Margaret Collins Stoop - composer      conductor      flutist













Margaret Collins Stoop is a versatile musician, bringing passion to each aspect of her musical endeavors. 
An award winning composer of choral and chamber works, Meg has had her music performed throughout the United States and Europe.  She is president of the non-profit composers guild, Connecticut Composers, Inc.

A lifelong chorister, Meg founded and directs the Adesso Choral Society, a select chamber chorus dedicated to performing works by living composers.

The Adesso Choral Society will join forces with the choir of the United Methodist Church of Westport and Weston singing John Rutter's Requiem under the direction of Leslie C. Smith.
Adesso's director, Margaret Collins Stoop, will present new works to be performed by Adesso, Leslie Smith accompanying.

A concert of new music by Connecticut composers will be performed at the Wilton Library.  Composers on the program are Elizabeth Lauer, Eugenie Rocherolle, John Rose and Frank Vasi.  Meg will play flute in Frank Vasi's new work for flute, saxophone and piano.

Meg's new work, Teaching Me a Blessing, will be premiered at a special shabbat service.  The work is for two sopranos, trumpet and piano, and was commissioned by the Temple for this occasion.
